Take a tape measure (a sewing tape measure works best, but not required).

Rest the tape approximately two fingers above your brow (about 1½") and about ⅛" above the ear. Right where the hat band would normally sit.

Tape should be firm but not tight. It should wrap straight across your mid-forehead.

Make sure it stays level all the way around your head (not dipping down behind your ears).

If you are in between sizes, go with the bigger size.

This special edition of the Open Road was created for the USA 250 Collection to honor America's 250th anniversary. Introduced in 1937, the Open Road carries a western-style 4 1/4" low cattleman crown and 2 3/4" bound-edge brim — a profile that moves easily from country to city. Crafted from Stetson's proprietary 6X fur felt, handmade in Texas. Finished with a grosgrain hat band, a gold-tone USA branding iron hat pin with red, white, and blue inset stones, a red/white/blue USA 250 satin liner, and a handsewn genuine leather sweatband. Includes a limited edition USA 250 hat box.
