The Open Road has been in the Stetson line since 1937, and it still reads as a dress hat first. Cattleman crown, bound-edge brim, and a slim grosgrain band that keeps the whole thing quiet. Handcrafted in Garland, Texas. Inside, a genuine leather sweatband that settles into your head over a few wearings instead of fighting it.

Take a tape measure (a sewing tape measure works best, but not required).
Rest the tape approximately two fingers above your brow (about 1½") and about ⅛" above the ear. Right where the hat band would normally sit.
Tape should be firm but not tight. It should wrap straight across your mid-forehead.
Make sure it stays level all the way around your head (not dipping down behind your ears).

If you are in between sizes, go with the bigger size.
